Promovendus Miftakul Khoiri

Jakarta, November 6, 2025: Trisakti University’s Doctoral Program in Economics, specializing in development economics (Islamic economics and finance), held another dissertation proposal hearing, drawing the attention of Islamic economics academics and practitioners. Promovendus Miftakul Khoiri presented his research on “Zakat and Tax.” The hearing was held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 3:00 PM WIB.

The proposal hearing was led by Prof. Dr. Yolanda Masnita Siagian, CIRR, CMA, CPM as the Chief Examiner. The promoter team consisted of Prof. Dr. Khomsiyah, Ak., CA., FCMA., CGMA., CRIB as Promoter, and Dr. Nirdukita Ratnawati, SE, ME as Co-Promoter. Both considered that the topic raised was very relevant to the dynamics of zakat and taxes, especially in optimizing the role of zakat as an instrument of social justice that synergizes with the national taxation system.

In addition to the promoter, other examiners were also present, namely Dr. Husna Leila Yusran, MM, CMA, CPMA, Dr. Lavlimatria Esya, M.Si, and Dr. Nuraini Chaniago., as the notary. The examiners provided various constructive input related to the methodological approach and the clarity of the integrative variables between zakat and taxes. This lively and scientific discussion enriched the research substance and emphasized zakat management in Indonesia.

This proposal hearing marks a crucial step for Miftakul Khoiri toward the dissertation research stage. It is hoped that the final results of this research will make a tangible contribution to strengthening zakat and taxation to support inclusive and equitable national economic development.
