Jakarta – The Doctoral Program in Economics held its dissertation examination again on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. On that occasion, the doctoral candidate Ari Susanto took the examination, which was held starting at 08.00 WIB.

The dissertation presented with research examines the development strategy of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). The dissertation examination was led by Prof. Dr. Yolanda Masnita Siagian, MM, CIRR, CMA, CPM as the chief examiner. Acting as promoter was Prof. Dr. Tatik Mariyanti, M.Si, with Dr. Ir. Roikhan M. Azis, MM as co-promoter.

Meanwhile, the members of the examination team consisted of Dr. Nuraini Chaniago, MM and Dr. Dini Hariyanti, ME, as well as Dr. Harmaini who also provided evaluation and academic input on the research results presented by the doctoral candidate.

In the exam, Ari Susanto presented the results of his analysis, strategic model, and managerial implications for PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. The examiners provided several critical notes and recommendations for improvement, particularly regarding strengthening the analytical model and the relevance of the strategy to address the dynamics of the global Islamic banking industry.

The dissertation examination is an important stage before the prospective doctoral candidate proceeds to the next session, and also reflects a significant academic contribution to the development of strategy and competitiveness of the Indonesian Islamic banking industry on the international stage.
